I decided this year to make a Ramadan Wreath. We haven't made one of those for Ramadan before so it was nice to do something different.
Requirements:
- Craft Ring (purchased form craft store)
- Fabric scraps (cut into rectangles)
- Cardboard sheet (we used a cereal box)
- Printout or handwritten Ramadan Mubarak Sign
Instructions:
Step 1: Cut out a tester strip of fabric and tie around in a loose knot, making sure the size is adequate. Then use the correct size needed as a template and cut out many more strips. You can use different fabrics if you wish. (We used a patterned piece of fabric from an old duvet cover)
Step 2: Tie all the pieces of fabric around the ring, spreading around evenly as possible.
Step 3: Cut out a piece of cardboard the same size as the craft ring.
Step 4: Print out the words Ramadan Mubarak or hand write them onto some paper. Then place onto the cardboard. Puncture 4 holes into the cardboard. Then using scrap fabric attach to the fabric ring. Also use some scrap fabric to make a loop at the top to hang it up.
Once done you can hang this up for decoration. I think it would look batter with a bolder brighter text than I have used. If I do this again I would spend more time making the words Ramadan Mubarak look better.
